Hi my anme is Jim & my son is 5 years of age now & was diagnosed with adhd. My son receives Physical, Occupatioal, speech & Play therapy 2-3 times per week due to a Stroke at age 1 leaving his right side partially parlyzied. he is doing better now other than his focusing & paying attention.
It takes him a while to eat , do homework but he will sit infront of the tv for 1-2 hours if he is interested. My wife & I try to put only educational show.
My son's vocabulary is of about a 7 year old his teachers have told us but he doesn't have autism luckily.
I have been reading about side effects of medications for children with adhd & it scares me that they can cause a stroke,etc.,.
With all of our resources why do we not put money into alternative methods instead of drugs all the time. No wonder our society of kids, children are so curiious with experimenting with other narcotics etc.
Pls advise
Thank you.

Hi, My name is Ida. I am working as an early childhood consultant in Indonesia. My trainee, teachers, found problems in making lines between ADHD or students who are active and still in explorative play.

My question relating to your form, after we fill in the form, in what area we can assume that the child is having ADHD or not. Therefore, we can take action by suggesting parents/adult to bring the child to experts.

Many thanks

for me it's more interesting watching your movie about ADHD medication.I can save it too in my MP3. When I am driving I can still hear your point of ADHD.

Here, In Indonesia, when I share knowledge of ADHD to others, they seem more interesting when I turn on a video.

I also agree using this video becaude I believe in brain reseacrh for a human retention, this ways will stay in someone memory longer than only reading.

Regards,

Thanks for the short videos. They're informative and don't take up a lot of one's precious time. If you have anything on possible effects of ADHD drugs on a kid with a brain scar and a one-time sezure, that would be very useful for me. Thanks again for a worthwhile effort.

Natalie,
I'm not sure that I'll get to a video on that in the near future.
The essential point is to review your cardiac status with your physician. If you are stable - i.e. blood pressure controlled, no active cardiac concerns - your doctor MAY be OK with you taking an ADHD Medication. I can't advise you to do anything apart from talk to your physician about the possibilities.
Best,
Dr. Kenny

I like and look forward to the videos. I prefer when you keep them brief as this one was and to the point. Topics are always on interest. An excellent source of learning.

Please discuss high blood pressure and adhd medications.
I really want to try the medication but the warnings for high blood pressure and/or heart disease are numerous. The warnings seem to apply to the stimulant and non-stimulant type. I feel trapped.
